Two Merlos and Counting!

David answers 5 short questions explaing the reasoning behind choosing the first Merlo and for opting to stay with the brand when the time came to change their original 33,7 machine.  

1. This is your second Merlo - why chose another one versus the other brands you’re familiar with?

I’d always liked the look of them, but it was a big decision to buy our first Merlo. Once we had it though, we really liked the extra boom reach , and the cab was a game changer, quiet, good visibility and just a nice place to be.  When it came to changing the Merlo, we did look at other brands, but we really liked the Merlo, it was reliable and its value held up well, so there was no point in changing to another brand. Also, we were very happy when we heard you’d been appointed as the area’s Merlo dealers at Clwyd Agri.      

2. What’s the favourite feature for you on the Merlo in day-to-day use?

The joystick – everything’s on there,  forward, reverse, neutral, all the services – easy and comfortable to use. It’s great! 

3. What do you think is the most underestimated characteristic of the Merlo?

It’s compactness and power.

4. We see that you use your Merlo on the pit at silage time – how does it perform and why ?  

We help the contractor with rolling really, but it goes everywhere and climbs – it’s really surprising how steep it’ll go, it’s got plenty of power and its low cab height helps in the shed. It doesn’t dig in, and we definitely don’t regret going for the larger wheels - it’s got great ground clearance, and we find it’s also better on the fields.    

5. If you had to sum up the Merlo in no more than two words, what would they be?

Cracking machine !
